DIY // AMERICAN FLAG SHORTS

DIY. This is the first time that I'm doing a DIY. I went shopping with Marieke and we were both searching for the american flag shorts, but we couldn't find them anywhere, so we decided to do it ourselfs. We both bought some denim shorts at Zara and the next day we started with the DIY. 

You need:
♥ Some denim shorts
♥ Textile dye in three colours: red, white and blue
♥ Brushes or pencils
♥ Ruler and a pen
♥ A template of a star
♥ Old papers

1. Start with drawing the stars on your shorts. The place doens't matter. You only have to make sure that the distance between the stars is the same.
2. You have drawn all the stars, you can start with coloring the stars white. For the best result, repeat it a couple of times.
3. If all your stars are white, you can start with painting the left side blue.
4. Now it's time for the right side. Draw lines on the shorts, or vertical or horizontal. We've chosen to do it vertical, but official it's vertical.
5. You have to paint the stripes white and red and then:

Your american shorts are finished!

It took us about 4 hours, but that depends on how fast as your work. Good look!
